Technical graphic change and update of Point Blank to improving new experiences
for graphics and to prepare the future development of the game.
ATTENTION!
For Point Blank players who are still using Windows XP, which Microsoft officially ended support for on April 8, 2014.
Due to various limitations, the Zepetto team's ability to assist and support players still using this operating system will be reduced.
We want to inform you that you can still play Point Blank on Windows XP as normal, but you may experience stability issues and glitches in the future.
We recommend that players need considering updating your operating system and graphics card drivers to the current versions for the best possible gaming experience.
What is DirectX?
DirectX is the Graphic API to assist the game developer and the game engine software to understand each other
and make the playing devices creating much optimizing graphics.
Not only that, but it's also increasing the device performance for rendering much more refining graphic image, smoother playing experience and more graphic setting options.
Change in Point Blank
Since Point Blank using the older DirectX 9 for quite a while, we're ready to update the game engine.
DirectX 11 will be coming in the game as the optional setting. Player can change the setting back to the older version of DirectX anytime.


Apart from DirectX update, we also improving the graphic setting UI with the reference image.

Comparing different DirectX version
Reflection
DirectX 9 DirectX 11

In DirectX 11 will support the object reflection with the water or glasses.
** Player requires to setting the "Screen Space Reflection (SSR)".
HDR (High Dynamic Range) and SSAO
DirectX 9 DirectX 11

Shadow on the ceiling in DirectX 11 are much clearer. With the HDR, the lighting is much more refined.
Warning on DirectX setting
When Point Blank finally updated the DirectX 11, The option will be set on DirectX 9 as default setting.
** Attention: DirectX 11 will require the suitable GPU and the firmware which required for DirectX 11.
When using an outdated GPU and firmware, this option will take the severe hit to gaming experience.
Player could set back to the older version of DirectX when the problem occurred.

If the problem occurred which make the game cannot be open up again,
player can reconfigure the game via "PBConfig" inside the game folder.
Right click at the game icon and select "Open file location"

and looking for the file named "PBConfig", enter the application then setting back to the DirectX 9
